The Role

Dulux's NSW Protective Coatings (PC) business has an opportunity for a highly motivated, sales focused Business Development Representative to generate and deliver growth opportunities for the Dulux Protective Coatings business throughout Sydney, ensuring excellence in technical advice, customer satisfaction and profitable growth of Dulux Sales.

Reporting to the State Sales Manager this challenging opportunity will see you work independently in managing the state's business development through specification, developing and building relationships with key infrastructure partners, such as RMS, Public works, Road & Rail, consultants & engineers, councils and asset owners. Existing connections in these touch points being highly regarded.  This coupled with your ability to work closely with the team to influence projects from your networks and relationships will be critical to your success.  

In addition to customers visits there will be some administration including a focus on safety and sustainability, project management, new product innovation and planning.

Essential Criteria

As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills and experience;

  • Ability to establish effective, sustainable and mutually beneficial business relationships with customers;
  • Building and construction market awareness and commercial acumen;
  • Ability to influence and present in a highly competitive market with various levels of stakeholders;
  • Negotiation and communication skills;
  • Sales and territory management experience with a desire to grow and progress in a business;
  • Objection handling skills and resilience to handle rejection;
  • Planning and organisation skills.
